Conceptualisation

Naming is widely considered one of the hardest problems in software development. But why? The reasons are subtle and touch on something deeper: conceptualisation—how we identify, delimit, and create concepts.
In this talk, we will explore how the notion of concepts has developed in cognitive science and how it has been applied in software development, from their implementation as language features to their use in design descriptions. We'll examine why this understanding is crucial and how a clearer operational grasp of what concepts are can make us better software designers.
